The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published updated guidance for landlords with tenants in receipt of Universal Credit.
The information is designed to help understand what they can do to help their tenants prepare for their move to the single Universal Credit benefit payment and make rental payments directly to their landlord themselves.
It also explains what support is available for tenants who may need help moving to the new system.

If a tenant is having difficulty paying their rent, fill in the UC47 form to request payment of rent from a tenant’s Universal Credit.

Thank you, this is the most useful thing so far on LT. I have recently taken on a couple of UC tenants who are nice enough but hopeless with managing their finances. Hopefully the UC47 form will do the trick!
Doubt it my UC 47 was ignored and has been for over a year.
Am having to go to complaint stage etc.
Tenant has now vacated.
Am owed about £8000 that should have been paid to me directly.
So DON'T bet on a UC 47 working!
