Council staging virtual forum to help landlords during pandemic

A council is holding a virtual landlords’ forum to support them navigate the Covid-19 pandemic.

Normally, Ryedale council works in partnership with the National Landlords Association to hold an annual event in person.

This year, a free online event is being held on April 29 at 4pm to give landlords an opportunity to watch a series of presentations on a range of topics that can help them deal with the issues COVID-19 has brought to the industry.

Speakers will be sharing information virtually about renewables and funding sources available for landlords. Attendees will also hear about the NRLA and a new landlords’ newsletter.

A council spokesperson says: “Covid-19 has had an impact on many industries within Ryedale and it’s vital that we do what we can to support our businesses. Our priority is to support lives and livelihoods.

“We are pleased to offer this popular event online this year, for the benefit of our landlords in Ryedale. The varied range of topics and speakers covered will provide much-needed support.”

For more information about the online landlords’ forum, email housing@ryedale.gov.uk.

Brent hosts its first ever Digital Landlord Forum

Over 330 people tuned in virtually to take part in London Borough of Brent’s first ever Digital Landlord Forum yesterday (15 April).

The event included presentations from keynote speakers such as Paul Shamplina, host of Channel 5’s ‘Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords’; Peter Littlewood, Founder and Director of iHowZ; Gavin Dick, Senior Policy Officer NRLA; Jamal Khan from Churchill Tax Advisors; and Richard Tacagni, Director of London Property Licensing.

The Landlord Forum is an opportunity for the council to reach out and engage with landlords, developers, property investors and sponsors in the property industry. The success of this year’s Digital Landlord Forum shows that there is a real appetite within this group to share learnings, examples of best practice and work together to drive up standards in the private rented sector.
The forum was run in partnership with Midas Property Club.
