An online platform that places landlords’ listings on portals and manages bookings is seeking new funding through the Seedrs crowdfunding site.
Smarthost values itself at £5m and claims to ”fully automate the property-management process through AI and other technologies while reducing prices for end-customers by up to 35 per cent and creating exciting B2B opportunities.”
Smarthost has existed since 2016 and delivers “all-round property-management service, creating a bespoke experience for homeowners across the UK and in Ireland” and aims to operate in mainland Europe next year.
It manages clients’ property listings on Airbnb, Rightmove, Booking.com and Zoopla and says it makes it easy for landlords to switch between short lets and traditional lets. Viewings can be carried out remotely, via Zoom, and there’s a mobile dashboard for landlords to use. It also handles commission-free payments in various currencies, including crypto.
The platform says its objective is to democratise access to property management; it’s so far managed over 500 properties worth over £720m and has welcomed more than 14,000 guests.
Chief executive Djamshed Ashrapov says: “The funds generated from crowdfunding campaign will primarily be used to improve our property management software and sustain our national presence.”
