Can landlords help tenants who are hoarders?

A local authority is staging a webinar which focuses on hoarding and what landlords can do if they have a tenant with this issue.

The event will look at the rights and responsibilities of a landlord faced with such a tenant.

Bolsover council’s webinar will feature representatives from Derbyshire’s Fire Service and the National Residential Landlords Association - they will give a presentation and will be available for a Q&A afterwards.

The webinar will take place on Wednesday May 4 at 12noon and to register, please email thomas.evans@ne-derbyshire.gov.uk.

    Hoarding is a Fire hazard.
An eviction notice should help them pack up and rationale their crap !!
If a Landlord knows about this and has done nothing to address it, there could be an Insurance claim complication ?

Or just leave and not clear out the crap!

The Council would charge the landlord even if all the rubbish was taken directly to the dump - and then Councils wonder why we won't help them house the feckless, reckless and hopeless!
