The UK going carbon friendly will not help us or the planet while China, the US and other developing countries constantly pump millions of tons of carbon into the atmosphere. This is like river pollution; you dont dump anything in river but your neighbours use it as a dumping ground. The result is dirty river.... This exercise is only a gimmick to create new jobs or business so that they can be taxed.

This is the beginning of a master plan. unfortunately, the higher mind decided that ordinary buy-to-let landlords should not exist anymore. The plan is to make all small and medium size landlords to disappear and all the properties to be in the hands of a select few. property ownership will be a thing of the past in the future. We will all be renting from the banks and the ones above banks

I cannot see anybody trying to stop this kind of thing happening? So, what is the landlord to do in situations like this?

Well done. Consultation is what is needed. Most of the recent housing proposals have been brought up without due diligence research. Abolishing Section 21 without proper research is like travelling on a juggernaut without brakes, bound to end up painful.

This seems like a half baked idea. landlords as a whole would want to keep tenants at their properties for as long time possible. They do not want to have new tenancy at the end of year for the simple reason they will pay agency fees to get new tenants in. There are too many jobsworth people meddling with the property market without knowing anything about it. I have been an agent for the past 18 years and I have never issued a section 21 notice to a tenant just because I / landlord felt like it. There is a concerted effort to make landlords liable for the problems with housing in this country. Only if you are a landlord, you would appreciate the problems some tenants can cause; therefore landlords opinions must be taken before this idea becomes law.
