This is utter nonsense. For my area, Newcastle, it is not 9% of all rentals are just below £700pcm. Quick rudimental research on Rightmove suggests 24% of available properties in Newcastle are below £700pcm. Statistics? It’s all nonsense.

I think this is a really great idea. I mean it’s 2023 and as a landlord I’m absolutely swimming in cash, inflation is non existent, my mortgage rate is unbelievable, supermarket food is dirt cheap, builders, electricians and plumbers are happy to work for free and we have a government that loves landlords! Things are so good that the hotel near where I live is full of poor people from persecuted countries and we have no homes to put them in! They can have mine! I love this country.

Dear EDITOR, can we have some readers stories about this⤴️ It’s something I’ve not read about in terms of LL that have bought into the Leasehold apartment area of this world and stuck in this situation. There’s obviously a lot in the news about live in owners and tenants but not read much about LL’s stuck in this situation. Sounds a nightmare. Totally agree with two comments above too.
