Just imagine if landlords had a proactive Association to stand up for them?

What is the point of the NRLA? They have no voice and have become pointless. What have they achieved in the past 5 years to improve the lot of its members. Great at selling their mortgages and insurance etc but useless at lobbying. Time Beadle went.

The NRLA has no voice and these platitudes will make no difference. This Government just ignores them,. Time for a proactive Association that actually represents professional landlords.

if landlords were represented this would not be happening. The NRLA supported Selective Licensing in Gt Yarmouth which was a mess and made no difference to the area whatsoever. Its time for a pro active association that spent time on looking after landlords instead of its CEPO toadying up to ministers and achieving nothing for its members. They have no voice and are a joke. Its no wonder landlords are leaving the industry.

So, did the NRLA bother to ask their members what their view was on the abolition of Section 21? of course not.

Who exactly is on the nrla board? How did they get the job, who voted for them and how much are they paid?

The nrla have become a pointless organisation, apart from flogging insurance and other stuff they do nothing to represent landlords. They actually supported Selective Licensing in Gt Yarmouth against the wishes of landlords. Beadle is more into self promotion than fighting the corner for landlords. Time we had an Association for landlords with a voice instead of toadying up to Govt and local authorities.

They probably support it like the one in Gt Yarmouth.

Is this another scheme that the NRLA supports like the one at Gt Yarmouth?
From:

Gt Yarmouth has had Selective Licensing for 5 years now. The only properties that made the local news were owned by the Council, drug dealing, anti social behaviour and poor maintenance. These are not subject to Licensing. All landlords in the area increased rents to cover the fee, and whilst some properties were improved, the general area was still litter strewn and not maintained by the council. What made it worse is that the NRLA supported the scheme and continue to do so.

We have this in Gt Yarmouth and unbelievably the nrla supports it! All the rents increased to cover the licensing fee, the area concerned is still high crime area and its made no difference whatsoever. Just another income for a failed Council. And of course they ignored the consultation.

Why can't we have an Association that actually has a voice. To represent us?. Currently the Government just walks all over landlords.

The Council at Gt Yarmouth imposed Licensing for the same reasons despite every landlord opposing it. It led to rents in that area increasing to cover the cost of the licence. Three years down the line, no prosecutions no rogue landlords found and the only bad properties featured in the local press have been owned by the Council. Its a pointless exercise , there is sufficient legislation already to deal with poor landlords.

This is incorrect insomuch as the decision has yet to made regarding EPC levels by the Government.

And again, what are the NRLA actually doing to represent the landlord? Apart from numerous courses, insurance and mortgage offers, absolutely nothing. Landlords are being relentlessly hammered over and over again. We need a proactive organisation with some balls,.

I've said this before, but where are the NRLA on this, their silence is deafening again. Landlords going to the wall with no one or any association to support them. This industry has never been in such a poor state and this Govt seems to be able to ruin us with impunity. We have no voice or representation,.

Perhaps if landlords had an association that actually lobbied on their behalf instead of rolling over every time we wouldn't be in the position we are in now. NRLA simply has no voice as far as this Government are concerned. Time for a robust organisation with some fire in its belly. NRLA needs a new Chair, Board and CEO.

As usual, Shelter speaks and the media are all over it. On the rare occasion that NRLA speaks, no one listens, what is the point of an association that is silent.

If only we were actually represented by a viable Association that had a voice. The NRLA has become a joke which is why the industry is in such a bad state now. When Shelter speaks the media are all over it, on the odd occasion the NRLA speaks, nobody hears them. Tme the Chair,Board and CEO went and were replaced by people who actually understand the industry and have the balls to stand up to Govt.

The Govt ride rough shop over the NRLA, they have no voice or influence, No reason for them to start taking notice now.
From:

This is the problem, the NRLA does not campaign. Government have been allowed to walk all over us simply because there is no resistance or representation. The NRLA needs a new Chair,Board and CEO who can actually make a difference.

Time For an organisation that actually represents landlords. NRLA is mainly silent on any issues affecting us. Pointless.

A good example of a CEO who is completely out of his depth. The NRLA are mainly silent in all landlord issues but on this occasion the CEO speaks and puts his foot in his own mouth. This organization has completely lost its way since amalgamation, Government ignores them, making their very existence pointless,.

The council introduced Selective Licensing in my area with the approval from the NLA!. All affected landlords told them the cost would be added on to the rent. They ignored this so rents in that area are more expensive. This is what happens in business, extra costs are passed down on to the customer. The scheme has made no difference to the area other than generate an income for the council.

Until we get a proactive landlords association we will just be ignored by Government. Ironically when Shelter speaks the media are all over it. When was the last time you heard the NRLA on any form of media standing up for its members? They are totally ineffective, members should threaten to not renew until the Association actually grows some balls and comes out fighting. One wonders what the CEO and Board actually do and if they really think they are making any difference. The plight of landlords and the industry has never been in such a bad state, and no help from the NRLA.

And again, you have to ask what is the NRLA actually doing for landlords apart from flogging their courses and other offers. Nothing is the answer, they have no voice, Shelter speaks everyone listens, NRLA don`t even comment. A pointless organisation that does nothing for professional landlords. Its time for every member to threaten not to renew unless they get their act together. The whole Board needs a shake up and replaced with proactive people who know the industry.

Until the NRLA grow some balls and actually start to represent their members, landlords will continue to be screwed at every opportunity. What is the point of a landlords association if every time the Government shout jump, they reply, how hight? Landlords have never been in such a parlous state, no voice, no representation. Time for a change and a new organisation with some balls. I have asked the NRLA how they appoint their Directors and how much they get from members money, needless to say they haven`t bothered to rely. And I`m a member!!!

Just imagine if professional landlords had an Association that actually represented them in all such matter instead of flogging courses and other such stuff. It's because we have no voice that we are in the situation we are in now. The NRLA have no voice and are unable to stand up the Government. Time for a change,
