So who do they want the money paid to, it's owed to the landlord but they don't want it paid to them?? Do they need educating on what a 'mortgage holiday' is, ie still needs to be paid plus the interest added, and many of us didn't take one. Either shameless headline grabbing or a real ignorance of the current situation

Very happy to have a completely licensed sector, as balance though the NRLA should be allowed to keep a register of tenants who don't pay, damage properties etc that we can all check

Personally I'd rather the whole sector was licensed under a national scheme, the funds should be used to fund a team to check all properties, to weed out the rogue landlords that give the sector such a bad name, and lead to onerous measures (that they ignore anyway). The sooner we make the sector a professional body, the better for all.

Housing stock in the UK is quite old, so to penalise homeowners, and others, for improving the condition to increase the useful life seems short-sighted and particularly penal. The fact that the funds used to renovate/ maintain a property are usually from taxed income is doubly unfair.

Until the political climate settles down we don't expect much in the way of change in rent levels, as a result we are fixing costs (mortgage rates) to allow things to settle & growth to return (& we invest in the North East)
