We are welcoming new landlords each day who are encouraging their tenants to sign up for rent reporting. Landlords see their tenants encouraged to pay on time. The tenants are rewarded in doing so. If you are interested please visit our website and enquire. Asa Bentley Operations Director CreditLadder

At CreditLadder new landlords are engaging with our service daily as they looking to introduce their tenants to CreditLadder for rent reporting. It's a win-win as the tenants are encouraged to pay on time but equally the tenant is rewarded with an improved credit history. This helps them in the future when they want to buy a home. But helps you in reducing and avoiding arrears. Please see the landlords section of our website for more information and please get in touch via the site if you are interested in discussing how we can help you.

We wholeheartedly support Sam on this point. At CreditLadder we are seeing appetite amongst portfolio landlords, property management companies plus single and multi-branch agents for Direct Debit rent collection. Benefits include: - Reducing late payments - for less worry and admin plus improved cash flow - Automation of the collection process - you know if payments will fail in advance - Increased flexibility - cancel, update and re-try payments With CreditLadder tenants also get rewarded for on-time rental payments through an improved Experian credit history. Furthermore reducing CreditLadder is launching a service to support this in Q2 this year. All interested can register interest at, https://www.creditladder.co.uk/agents. You'll receive a call from one of our Directors and we'll talk through your specific requirements to help get you the best results.

What may surprise the majority of tenants is that none of these rental payments count towards their credit score. We at CreditLadder are working with landlords to enable them in facilitating rental payment reporting for their tenants to Experian's Rental Exchange. Tenants are encouraged to pay on time, resulting in lower arrears and the service is free to landlords. If you would like to introduce this service to your tenants please do contact me. My email is asa@creditladder.co.uk.

One other interesting development in the budget was the announcement of a £2m competition to help tenants add rent to their credit history. This could ultimately benefit landlords as it encourages tenants to pay on time which can result in lower arrears. Interestingly, the solution already exists and at CreditLadder we are already working with landlords across the country. Please do contact us via www.creditladder.co.uk if you would like to discuss how we can help you have your tenants rents reported.

At www.creditladder.co.uk our research shows that rent can account for up to 40% of income but currently counts for nothing in the eyes of lenders even though there is clear evidence that they are reliable payers. It should be a tenants right to have their biggest expense recorded on their credit file to help gain access to better rates for a more secure financial future. CreditLadder’s partnership with Experian means we are the only organisation at the moment who can offer smaller portfolio landlords a way to include tenants’ rental payments onto their credit profiles. This service is free and doesn't rely on landlords to report the information. What is especially encouraging for landlords is that arrears for tenants reporting their rent through CreditLadder is below 2% (September 2017), which is way below the industry average seen between June and September this year of just under 11% (Your Move - Buy to Let index June, July, August & September 2017). It is encouraging to hear so many MPs in support of adding rent payments to tenants credit scores. Yesterday's debate in parliament was a major step forward.

CreditLadder supports this debate. We set out to help tenants to report their rental payments to Experian. Having processed close to £8m in rents to date we work directly with tenants, landlords and agents to deliver a safe and secure reporting platform. We're staying close to developments and the outcome of this debate as we believe it's time for a widespread change to help first-time buyers.

This research is interesting at a time when so many changes are imminent in the lettings industry impacting agents, landlords and tenants. Tenants can already register their rent payments and have them reported to Experian through CreditLadder. We've already processed over £7.5m rents to date and want to help as many tenants as possible.
