Clearly the Leeds BS is not virtue signalling. May be, however, they might like to consider "donating" some of the profits they make from second home mortgages etc..... towards increasing UK housing stock. Just a thought.

Terry ... hold on, don't rush for the exit. If your properties are in good condition and are not rabbit hutches, you'll probably find that rents will go up (and up) on the back Govt legislation. The law of unintended consequences.

But if Nick, Robert & Felicity (who just own property to live in) also see the value of their homes fall, the "vote winner" might just turn into a vote loser - there are many more homeowners than landlords ! Politicians often fall foul of the unintended consequences of their actions. They're really not terribly bright !
