A sports team has made the unusual move of issuing a direct appeal to private landlords to help it find accommodation for some of its star players.
Telford Tigers plays in the National Ice Hockey League, the sport’s second tier league in the UK. The league features 46 clubs from England and Wales as well as a club in south west Scotland and another Scottish club in its Cup competitions.
Now the Telford team has issued a dramatic statement, saying: “As Telford Tigers look to build on the foundations laid for the 2023/24 season, temporary accommodation to house players for the upcoming season is required.
“We are looking for landlords and agents with properties available to let between the months of September 2023 and May 2024, ideally in a central Telford location. All property types will be considered.
"If you have any information, or know any contacts who may be able to help please get in touch by emailing coach@telfordtigers.net. Your help is invaluable to us, and we genuinely appreciate any leads or information you can provide.
“As the anticipation builds for the upcoming season, it’s easy to focus solely on our new rosters who will take to the ice in September. However, behind every successful season lies a dedicated team working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.”

Mmm. Are Telford Tigers offering to become the Tenant under the tenancy agreement. Whereby any rogue tenants can complain about mould, moan about every little thing and chase for compensation for every little thing through the Ombudsman and ultimately chase their Employer??? How do we know they will ever vacate?
The world without the PRS is starting to bite.
Why don't they go to the local council and get in the queue?
Because the season will be over by the time they get a property. This coming season, the season after that, and that, and that and that..........
Oh so it is starting to come to light that the Economy needs a healthy, flexible PRS after all. Shame its shrinking at an record level. This time next year another 25% of properties are expected to leave the Sector.
Rents will continue to climb, affordability criteria tighten even more & landlords can and will be even more picky than they are now. Everyone wants rid of landlords then whines at the consequences.

OH yes all down Mr Michael Gove he’s some man for one man and put in place Mr Rishi Sunak what a pair.
A two bed Terrace to let in Chadwell Heath advertised for £1200. pm according to reports and a video showing the Crowds of people, they had 50 offers and 162 viewings.
Wake up Mr Sunak & Mr Gove the ship is sinking. Scrap The Renter’s Reform Bill now.
Anyone that wants their own place simply buy it not hijack mine.
Try the Nat West see if they will tolerate your nonsense, complain to Shelter about them see what good it will do you.
