Landlords to hear plans for local implementation of rental reforms

Eden council in Cumbria is hosting an event for landlords and managing agents to consider energy efficiency regulations, grants available in Eden and what the future holds for the private rented sector.

The session will cover the financial incentives available for landlords to make their properties more energy efficient, as well as to renovate empty houses. A summary of minimum energy efficiency regulations will also be given by the council’s experts.

The council says it is keen to work with landlords to support housing vulnerable residents, and will be giving a run-through of its Property Links programme and opportunities for landlords to get involved.

It will also look at the government’s white paper and how rental sector reforms may be implemented locally.

The event is being held on Wednesday December 7 from 5pm to 7pm at the Town Hall in Penrith.

Tickets are free but booking is essential. To secure your place, email david.fincham@eden.gov.uk before Friday December 2.

What next landlords must hold a certificate in safeguarding

Reading that it's a way of implementing the government white paper by the back door.

    What about vulnerable landlords?

  • icon

Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Once they get in there, you may never get them out. Why? Because they’re vulnerable. Landlords are scum. No one cares about landlords.

  • George Dawes

Wait til the government are the major landlords and there’s nothing shelter etc can do about it …

    Coming soon 🔜

Labour will nationalize us and pay us £300k each to run our portfolios for them,
+ holiday pay, + gold plated final salary pensions .

And there was me thinking we we had been Nationalised already. We are certainly not working for ourselves, we are under the thumb at every turn and obey all. They are taking us for right mugs.
